After years of managing IBS, endometriosis, and a birth injury, Alice’s doctor recommended psyllium fibre (the Pharmac funded one in the white tub). It worked. Genuinely, noticeably worked. Better regularity, more comfortable days, and a growing appreciation for what consistent fibre intake was doing for the rest of her health too. She became, in her own words, a massive psyllium fan. The problem was everything else that came with it.
But the options were terrible.
Metamucil and similar psyllium supplements were packed with maltodextrin, artificial colours, and sweeteners. Just 58% active psyllium, padded with things that had no business being there. Plain psyllium husk was pure and effective but tasted awful. Think dried-up puddle. Alice realised she wasn’t alone in this. Plenty of people knew psyllium worked. Nobody could find a version worth taking every day.
So we made something better.
With co-founder Johnny and a food technology consultant, Alice created No.2. Naturally flavoured, 92% psyllium husk (compared to Metamucil’s 58%), and nothing else that doesn’t need to be there. No fillers, no gimmicks, no junk. A product they actually wanted to take every day. And do.
