So what the heck is psyllium husk?

Psyllium is a soluble fibre derived from the seeds of Plantago ovataan herb grown mainly in India. Because of its excellent water solubility, psyllium absorbs water to become a thick, viscous gel that resists digestion in the small intestine. Its resistance to digestion allows it to help regulate high cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels. It can also aid weight management and relieve mild diarrhoea as well as constipation (1, 2, 3, 4.)
