If you know, you know (what ingredients are in your smoothie)...

One of the reasons we developed No.2 was to provide an affordable natural psyllium fibre supplement to people like us.  I had been taking bulk fibre products for years to deal with a range of gut issues and a family history of high blood pressure (something I am determined to keep at bay as long as possible).  I found that the psyllium worked wonders for my too fast bowel and also stopped the sick bloaty feeling I would get daily.  Like our customers, I wanted something that didn’t taste terrible but had the same effect as the bulk fibre that I had been prescribed.  To help you understand our product better we have put together some information on our key ingredients.

Psyllium husk:

Psyllium husk is a dietary fibre that comes from the seeds of the Plantago ovata plant. It is a widely used as a natural remedy to promote digestion support constipation. The outer covering of the psyllium seed, known as the husk, contains high levels of soluble fibre.

Psyllium husk lots of mucilage.  Mucilage is a gel-like substance that forms when it comes into contact with water. This property makes it highly effective in absorbing water and swelling up, which adds bulk to the stool and aids in regular bowel movements. We chose psyllium husk as our fibre source as its efficacy has been widely studied.  It has a higher fibre concentration to other fibres, like apple fibre, meaning that you can get more fibre from smaller quantities.

Stevia:

Stevia is a natural, zero-calorie sweetener taken from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant.  It has been traditionally used by indigenous people of South America as a sweetening agent.

Stevia became popular as it has intense sweetness while making little impact on blood sugar levels.  This makes it good option for people who have diabetes or want to reduce their sugar intake.

Thaumatin:

Thaumatin is a natural protein-based sweetener from the fruit of the katemfe plant (Thaumatococcus daniellii), which is native to West Africa. It has an intensely sweet taste and is low in calories. It also lacks the bitter after taste of lots of other natural sweeteners.

Our plan with No.2 was for it to contain as few ingredients as possible. We removed unnecessary bulking agents and colours to give you just the good stuff.  Feed your good gut bacteria for a healthier you. xx
